I once knew a koumpounophobe. He had worked for the British Secret Service, but had quit to write spy thrillers, at which he was very successful. His wife confided his phobia to me...apparently buttons were fine as long as they were attached to clothing, but let one fall to the floor and AAAAGGGHHHHHHH!!!
